Zac Elkin’s story is a heart warming one he is now 30 and only made his South African 1st class debut in 2018 for the Western Province side, however he actually made his 1st class debut in the UK back in 2012 when he appeared for Cardiff MCCU side against Somerset, he scored a brilliant 137 but from then on a mixture of his studies and some bad luck restricted him to club cricket in his native SA. He grafted away in the WP Cricket league for season after season latterly with Green Point C.C. racking up the runs but not getting the break he deserved until the day in 2018 when his selection came. He took his opportunity with both hands and this stylish Bat keeper now was 550 runs from 9 1st class games averaging over 40 and in the One day format its even better with 250 runs from only 6 knocks at the fantastic average of 50. Zac has proved to be very consistent as well as highly talented with 2 tons and 4 more scores over 50 so far in his career. His high score of 162 came against SWD in January 2020 when opening the batting he stroked his way to a magnificent century that consisted of 17 boundaries. Clearly Zac is also a top class wicketkeeper and this also makes him a very attractive proposition for club cricket in 2022.
